Create the wedding ceremony of your dreams with a professional Marriage Celebrant
Your wedding day is special! It is the happiest day of your life, and the day you publicly make a legal commitment to the person you love.
What does a great Marriage Celebrant do?
As a professional Marriage Celebrant, I become your trusted guide and mentor for your special day. Together, we will create a ceremony which is unique and individually tailored to you. This intimate preparation is imperative for a truly special moment.
With many years of experience as a Civil Marriage Celebrant, I can offer you many hints and suggestions to help make your day run smoothly, efficiently and without stress.
I promise that my experienced guiding hand will ensure the time leading up to your special day, and the day itself is memorable, enjoyable, exciting and most importantly, relaxing—with everything under control.
A guiding hand makes the day—and the lead up—immeasurably less stressful for you. I become a friendly, trusted guide through this process to help you create the perfect event.
I also pre-empt and take care of many finer details so you can relax as much as possible.
Initial consultation
Our first meeting is an obligation free initial consultation with you. There is no charge for this. It is your opportunity to get to know me and ensure you feel comfortable with what I can do for you.
We chat about how you imagine your marriage ceremony would be. To help you, I can offer you my Wedding Resource Folder to borrow. This contains many suggested words, poems and readings for you to draw upon.
Designing the ceremony of your dreams
At the next meeting we discuss at length, and plan your very own marriage ceremony, including your favourite pieces of music chosen to enhance your ceremony. It is very important to me that your ceremony genuinely reflects your love for each other, and your personalities, and that you feel comfortable with the wording. I then put together the wording you have chosen and email you the first draft. This will be exciting because you will see and read your ceremony for the first time, and your future wedding day will then start to feel real!
In the final meeting, the ceremony drafts have been completed and you are thrilled with the final draft. We spend this time going over your ceremony very carefully and we will rehearse your special moments! We will test the music on my PA system, and rehearse the hand-over ceremony and any other rituals you may have chosen to add depth and meaning to your ceremony.
On the day—you can relax and enjoy your Marriage Ceremony
My role on your wedding day is to conduct your ceremony with sincerity, warmth and joy. You will feel confident and relaxed because the hard work has been done and you will be happy and confident that I am looking after every detail for you.
Importantly, I talk to the groomsmen, bridesmaids and other participants to ensure everyone is comfortable with their roles. I ensure the photographer and videographer know exactly the content of the ceremony so they do not miss the special and precious moments. There is nothing for you to worry about.
I have an intuitive understanding of the stage, audience and participants. I look after the movements, order and music within the ceremony to ensure it runs smoothly.
I also look after the logistics
This includes:
- Unlimited meetings, phone calls and emails and a comprehensive Wedding Resource Folder containing ideas for wording, poems and readings for you to draw upon.
- Providing a PA (public announcement) system with in-built CD player, which ensures everyone can hear the ceremony and music. The system can run on battery power if there is no mains power available.
- Ensuring the Marriage Ceremony is performed with sincerity and professionalism according to the guidelines set out in the Commonwealth of Australia Marriage Act 1961, and adheres to the Code of Practice for the Marriage Celebrants.
- Providing a matching signing table, fitted satin floor length tablecloth, chairs and chair covers
- Ensuring this stage setup is practical and well presented
- Ensuring all participants in your Marriage ceremony know what their duties are and that everyone is informed of the ceremony logistics to ensure all goes smoothly
- Showing any readers how to use the microphone
- Completion and submission of all your legal paperwork by registered mail to the Department of Births, Death and Marriage (BDM) in order to officially register your Marriage.
- Organising your official Marriage Certificate through the BDM which you will need for change of name with the RTA, passport, banks etc.
- Public Liability Insurance for any unfortunate accident at the venue of a Ceremony in direct relation to the Celebrant, e.g. a wedding guest tripping over any of the Celebrant’s equipment etc.
- I know when to step away for photographic moments!
Overseas Weddings
I have conducted Weddings in Australia for couples from other countries. This requires knowledge of international visa requirements and cultural sensitivities.
